Paul Williams Events

I recently met with Paul Williams, owner of Paul Williams Events, to talk about living in Tongwynlais and his Event Production Company.

As a resident of Tongwynlais since 1988, he has seen a few changes over the years. “I remember when I first moved here, the village was home to three thriving pubs, The Old Ton, The Lewis Arms and the Cardiff Castle (now Tongwynlais RFC)” said Mr Williams, “but apart from that nothing has changed too dramatically, and more importantly the village hasn’t lost its sense of community, which is one of the main reasons I like living here. Add to that the fantastic places for kids to play, dogs to be walked and easy access to road and rail links, it makes it a perfect place to run a home office”.

His business, Paul Williams Events specialises in large high profile corporate events, private parties and bespoke weddings. Paul explained that, “Creativity is the essence of what we are about, and if a client is looking for something out of the ordinary, we can help make it happen.” One of Paul Williams Events’ regular projects is producing the ever popular SWALEC Stadium Christmas Parties, that run for 10-12 days throughout December, providing a unique festive experience for small and large companies. This year’s offering is “SNOWFALL”, a secret agent Christmas party with a twist! For details visit www.swalecstadium.co.uk.

When he’s not working, Paul is often found on stage: his first love being theatre. From the age of 18 he has worked in theatres throughout Cardiff, performed at festivals, in musicals and been a professional actor. He will soon be playing Nathan Detroit in “Guys and Dolls” at the Everyman Festival in Sophia Gardens. Ever the performer, Paul often comperes the events he organises.

Paul is also Chairman of Gwaelod Rangers Football Club, which takes children from 6 up to 16 from Tongwynlais, Pentyrch, Taffs Well, Gwaelod y Garth and surrounding areas. If anyone would like to join the Club, please contact Paul for details. The Club is planning a football tournament that he hopes will take place in the village next summer at the Ironbridge Road playing fields. Watch this space for further information.
