Social Media Roundup – November 2013

Autumn in Tongwynlais

It’s been really busy on Facebook this month. We’ve seen our page likes soar from 210 to 286 and had our most successful post yet, which was the image above. It’s been seen by nearly 3000 people!

We’ve also had a great response to our first ever promotion. The Legacy Cardiff International have offered Facebook users the chance to win a meal for 2 worth £50. They are promoting their Christmas events and we’re really pleased to be able to give away this great prize.

Other highlights include this mock up of a tourism sign for the village. People were unanimous in their opinion that we should get a sign like this but one user pointed out some possible confusion by saying it looked like: “An old barn, some scrubland and an old man peddling wares on his bike!”.

Finally on Facebook, we asked people if they could tell us where this old photo was taken. John Bulpin kindly sent us some old photos that people clearly enjoyed.

Meanwhile, over on Twitter we’ve just announced our first advertising partner, Heath Windows and Doors.

Work continues on the roof at Castell Coch.

Visit Wales shared our unique image of the castle.

Finally, we shared this painting of the castle from Christopher Langley.
