I recently found this beautifully detailed miniature model of Castell Coch for sale online. Luckily there was a photo of the underside that shows who manufactured it.
This is one of a limited set of 400 produced in 1993. The model was produced by JP Editions and designed by Patrick Gates.
Patrick Gates was schooled at Art College in Farnham, England and began his career with John Hine Studios at Eggar’s Hill, Aldershot. The model was completely hand made and hand painted in Hampshire.

This is very similar (but not identical) to the Lilliput Lane model produced in 1994 and 1998. It’s now out of production, but I picked one up on eBay reasonably priced around the time I moved to Tongwynlais. At least one other Ton resident has one proudly displayed in their window! It’s a beautiful piece!
