The Village Hall Committee have told us that fundraising for a new roof has passed £5,000!
The Tongwynlais 3 Peaks Walk raised £1,700 and the Community Council have contributed £2,000. The quiz and curry night collected £370, St Michael’s Ladies Circle £100, Forest Tea Room £105 and the Tongwynlais Around School Group (TAG) £700.
Village Hall Committee Secretary, Caroline Lunn said: “It’s a great start the the fundraising but we obviously have a long way to go.” The committee don’t have a specific sum they’re looking to raise, but they estimate the cost of the repairs to be at least £30,000.
There are lots of fundraising events coming up, including a race night on 25th June in village hall, live music in the Lewis Arms on 29th June and The Dandos are playing again on 1st July.
