Cardiff North 2015: Hustings

The Election Movie

The aim of a hustings is to provide voters with an opportunity to hear the views of candidates or parties standing for election.

There are several hustings coming up over the next few weeks where you can see the candidates in person and hear what they have to say.

We recently went to one in Pontprennau Community Church, you can read our report here.

This is a list of public hustings taking place in the run up to election day:

ASDA Coryton – 15 April

You need to register to attend this event.

The event will be chaired by Chief reporter of South Wales Echo, Martin Shipton, and will take place on Wednesday 15th April in the café at Asda Cardiff Coryton Supercentre. Please arrive at 6pm, ready to be seated for a 6.30pm start. It will finish at approximately 7.45pm.

Rhiwbina Baptist Church – 16 April

Doors open at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start. For details, visit the church’s website.

Whitchurch Methodist Church – 23 April

Whitchurch, Rhiwbina and Birchgrove Churches Together have arranged this hustings, which will be moderated by Professor Kevin Morgan.

Doors are open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Questions may be submitted from 7:00pm onwards.

Llandaff North Residents’ Association – 30 April

The residents’ association have organised a hustings at the Steiner School, Hawthorn Road West, Cardiff CF14 2FL. Starts at 7:30pm.

Made in Cardiff TV are recording a televised debate on Saturday 18th April. It will be broadcast on Tuesday 21st April at 9:00pm.

BBC Radio 5 Live

On Tuesday 21st April, Nicky Campbell will be hosting the BBC 5 Live Breakfast Show from Absolutely Woof in Whitchurch. Tune in from 7:00 to 10:00am.

Nicky will be joined by members of the local community who will get the opportunity to quiz the parliamentary candidates directly. If you have a question, you can send it to Absolutely Woof via their Twitter or Facebook page.
