“Elin is originally from Carmarthenshire, and presently lives in Bangor with her spouse and four children. She was educated at the Grammar School for Girls, Carmarthen and Cardiff University, and trained professionally in Cardiff and Bangor. Elin has worked in the NHS in a variety of locations in Wales, including Cardiff, Ceredigion, Gwynedd and Mon, and Conwy and Denbighshire.”
Elin has been out canvassing in Pontprennau and will be speaking to us shortly about why she’s standing for Cardiff North.

Shaun Jenkins – Alter Change
“I’m the leader of Alter Change & Cardiff North Parliamentary Candidate. I formed Alter Change because I believe in a safer, moral & better society.
I believe in politics that can transform people’s lives for the better and re-shape society in to a moral, ambitious place, and that is what I’m working to achieve.”
Shaun is from Tongwynlais and we recently spoke to him about his reasons for starting his own party and standing for Cardiff North.

Craig Williams – Conservative Party
“Craig enjoys living in Cardiff with his young family; wife Clare, son Charlie and Welsh springer spaniel Winston. He is actively involved in the local community, serving as a school governor in both local primary and secondary schools.
If elected as the Member of Parliament for Cardiff North, Craig will continue his commitment to keeping the city’s streets safe by ensuring that crime is kept at the lowest level possible; creating more private sector jobs so that the economy continues to recover and working on behalf of hard-working families who do the right thing.”
Craig recently published his 6-point plan for Cardiff North.

Have Your Say – Ask the Cardiff North Candidates
One of the easiest ways to ask the candidates a question is on Twitter. Use the #atcnc hashtag so we can collate the questions and answers for everyone to see. We’re going to organise a live “Tweet Chat” soon, which is a dedicated time when the candidates will be online and ready to answer questions.
Mari Williams – Labour party
“I’m from Rhiwbina, went to school in Whitchurch High and until recently was a deputy head in a comprehensive school. Now living back in Rhiwbina I have already proved I can be a strong voice for local people.
Side by side with our Assembly Member, Julie Morgan I have led campaigns on improving local bus services, keeping Whitchurch post office in the village, securing a Green Belt and are fighting hard to Keep Our Libraries Open.”
One of Mari’s campaigns is to freeze energy prices.

Ruth Osner – Green Party
“I would like Cardiff North to have a stronger voice in Parliament. I want less inequality. Better secondary schools. More practical trades apprenticeships. No tuition fees and a citizens income for all. I want more investment in our nurses, doctors and hospitals and help provision of affordable social care for those who need it. I am in favour of bringing back the railways into public ownership. I think all producers should get a fair price for their product including British apples and milk.”
We’ve been in touch with Ruth and we’re hoping to arrange an interview soon to find out more about her campaign.
Ethan Wilkinson – UKIP
“My name is Ethan Wilkinson and I am the UKIP Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Cardiff North. I am 24 years old, married and a father to one (soon to be two). I am about to finish a 4 year BA (Hons) Italian and Spanish undergraduate degree at Cardiff University.
I was born in Cheltenham, raised in Gloucester and moved to Cardiff in 2011 to begin my university degree and have since settled here with my young family.
I have done voluntary work for my Church in Italy, studied at university in Spain, worked for a charity in Italy and set up my own social enterprise business.”
Ethan’s local priorities are libraries, the green belt and traffic issues.
Elizabeth Clark – Liberal Democrats
“I believe strongly in the Liberal Democrat values and am proud that it was the Liberal Party who first fought against social injustice. I’ve been campaigning for the party from an early age – when a teenager in the 1983 General Election by canvassing in Whitchurch and Rhiwbina villages.”

Jeff Green – The Christian Party
“I have been a local councillor for six years and Mayor for two of those. I am also a business man living in Llandrindod Wells with my wife Sue and our young family. I have been the leader of the Christian Party since 2013 and want to see this United Kingdom a strong prosperous God-fearing nation once again.”
