Cadw has announced an artist residency programme at Castell Coch in Tongwynlais, Cardiff. This exciting opportunity is for two artists to spend a period of six weeks at the castle.
The programme is supported by the Arts Council of Wales and aims to, “develop artists’ practice and engage audiences and communities in the creative process.” There is a bursary of £3,000 per residency.
Artists are invited to apply for places by emailing Cadw before Monday 2nd March at 5pm.
This is the 3rd year of the programme and previous artists include:
- Lucy Harvey at Valle Crucis Abbey
- Manon Awst at Segontium Roman Fort
- Wendy Couling at Plas Mawr
- Matt Wright and his photospherical travelling exhibition
We’ve published a series of articles featuring paintings of the castle and we can’t wait to see what the artists in residence are inspired to produce.
Full details of how to apply are available on Cadw’s website.
Email CadwPublicProgrammes@wales.gsi.gov.uk to make an appointment, or with any questions you may have about the residency.
