A group of local residents, backed by the Village Hall Committee, are planning to undertake a survey to ask people what facilities they think the village needs.
At the public meeting to discuss the proposed development on Merthyr Road, the idea of applying for a grant to purchase the land next to the village hall was put forward. Several residents convened an informal meeting to discuss this and other ideas. They agreed to start the process of applying for a grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
To complete the grant application, the group need to undertake a consultation process to get support and ideas from residents. The first stage of this consultation is going to be a questionnaire.
The group are designing the questionnaire and planning to deliver it to all households in the village later this month. There will also be an online version for people to complete.
Following the questionnaire they plan to arrange some focus groups to get more detailed feedback.
If you would like get involved, help distribute the questionnaires or give any feedback, you can email the group directly.
Tongwynlais.com will be helping to promote and publicise the survey. Go to www.tongwynlais.com/survey for news and information. A link to the online questionnaire will be available here when it’s ready.
