Update: Laura has now moved on from Tongwynlais. The current PCSOs are Gary Dunning and Richard Davies. PC Liz Wall is joining the team in a few weeks.

I recently spoke to Laura Moore, who is the new Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for Tongwynlais. We discussed the issues in the village and the decision to have a dedicated officer and PACT meeting. Laura asked me to help promote the meeting and introduce her.

“My name is Laura and I’m your new Police Community Support Officer for Tongwynlais. I have been in my role for almost 11 years and have covered many areas during my time with South Wales Police, all within Cardiff. I requested Tongwynlais and look forward to meeting the residents while I walk through the village and deal with any problems.

“I am here to deal with any issues that the police can assist you with, such as anti-social behaviour, neighbour problems and any issues that affect the community. I liaise regularly with local councillors and will assist you as best I can.

“I will be holding a PACT (Partnership and Communities Together) meeting on 13th October at 7pm in the Tanyard. This is an informal get together for Tongwynlais residents to meet with the police and council to raise any issues.

“I believe the main concerns from residents at the moment are parking and speeding along Merthyr Road. We need to hear your concerns so we, as a group, can decide on two priorities to tackle for the next two months.

“Please pop along on the 13th October 7pm at the Tanyard. Alternatively you can come and meet me every Thursday and Friday between 12.30 and 2pm in the Tanyard. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you where possible.”

You can contact Laura on 07584 004726 or email laura.moore@south-wales.pnn.police.uk.
