The Proposal
Brooke Smith Planning have been instructed by Grafton Group (UK) plc to prepare and pursue planning permission for five residential dwellings on land at Merthyr Road, Tongwynlais.
A draft layout plan has been prepared by HollowayFoo Architects, which currently proposes five detached residential dwellings. Each property will be allocated its own car parking space/garage and amenity space. The development will be accessed via a new access road which will run along the eastern boundary.
The Consultation
A public meeting was held at the village last Wednesday where the proposal plans were presented and representatives from Brooke Smith Planning and Graftons were available to answer questions. The consultation period ends on the 28th August. If you would like to submit comments on the proposal you can complete this form and send it to “Merthyr Road Tongwynlais Consultation, BrookeSmith Planning Consultants Ltd, The Cloisters, 12 George Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 1NP” to arrive no later than 5.30pm on 28th August 2013 or email this address.
Several Community and County Councillors attended the event, you can view our “Storify” stream to see what they said. Several residents commented that they felt the consultation process wasn’t long enough and one County Councillor stated that they “oppose development”.
