Local residents are forming a new community group and need your help.
What can I do?
The group don’t have an official name yet so they want your ideas. Head over to our Facebook or Twitter page to suggest a catchy name.
Some names have already been suggested.
What does the group want to do?
The group’s aims are:
- to improve Tongwynlais for the benefit of residents of the area;
- to encourage the goodwill and involvement of the wider community; and
- to build on existing community spirit and encourage community pride.
How did the group get started?
Following the original public meeting in September 2013 to discuss the proposed development on Merthyr Road, the idea of purchasing the land for the village was proposed.
Several residents organised a meeting to discuss the idea and a casual group was formed. The group have met regularly since the first meeting and organised the village survey and “Knowing you – Knowing Ton” event.
