Local artist, Alison Fennell, is starting a weekly watercolour class at the Tanyard in Tongwynlais.
Alison started painting 20 years ago after visiting an exhibition at the Tanyard. She met Arnold Lowrey and attended his beginner classes for six months. Since then, Alison has been teaching herself and experimenting with the medium. Her work has been shown at several Welsh exhibitions and sells internationally.
Alison is really excited about teaching in Tongwynlais and especially at the Tanyard. She explained, “I found my teacher there and now I hope to teach others the joy of watercolour.”
Alison has launched her own teaching programme called “Art Blossoms”. She teaches students at home and gives demonstrations to art societies. Alison has produced several instructional videos to show how she works.

She also has a selection of whimsical watercolour animals available to buy in her online store.
The classes cost £10 per session and begin next Tuesday in the Tanyard from 10.00am to 1.00pm. No drawing ability is required, just bring your own materials. You can follow Alison on Twitter and Facebook.
Update – The classes are now in the Ainon Church, Tongwynlais.
Hi Alison, I love your paintings in watercolour. Do you have any classes starting soon? I live in Worcestershire, but will travel. Maggie M
