Nikki Cartwright, who helped the children said, “We want our barrow to be a celebration of Roald Dahl’s life, featuring the writing shed in which he wrote many of his much loved stories.

“We decided to use four popular books as part of the design. Flowers were chosen to complement the garden style. The sticks on top show a selection of inspirational quotes he made and interesting random facts about him are attached to the barrow sides.

“Our barrow has been thoughtfully and lovingly produced by our school’s Eco Team, with ages ranging from 6 – 10. The children have worked very hard.

“Recycling is so important to the environment and we have recycled wherever possible, including our barrow, back for its third year in the competition! We hope you enjoy viewing it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
