Tongwynlais celebrated the investiture of Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales in 1969 with a week of events.
This souvenir programme was produced to advertise the events and provide entry to the fete.

- Sunday, June 29th – Community Hymm Singing Service
- Monday, June 30th – Investiture Celebration Dance
- Tuesday, July 1st – Evening Concert
- Wednesday, July 2nd – Comic Football Match
- Thursday, July 3rd – Concert by Tongwynlais Schoolchildren
- Friday, July 4th – Super Bingo

The most fascinating part of the programme are the businesses who advertised in it.
L. J. & C. Bennett
Bennett’s Garage is now the New You Hair Lounge. There’s a great photo on my history page.
D. S. J. (Crafts) Limited
Conti’s – Fish and Chips Bar
W. R. Roberts & Sons Ltd. – Vale View Dairies
M. Evans – General Stores
L. Phillips – Newsagent Confectioner and Tobacconist
E. R. Hall – High-Class Family Butcher and Meat Purveyor
Norman T. Jones Removals
Dennis Davies – Castle Stores
Lewis Arms Hotel
S. J. Cradock & Son
The Lewis Arms is obviously still around, although no longer as a hotel. Again, you can see some old photos of my history page.
Goughs – Television Rental
The programme was printed by Evans & Short of Tonypandy.
