This instalment in the series is an assortment of postcards from my collection. I normally feature one postcard and do some research into the subject but I thought I’d share these unusual examples for a change.
I don’t know much about these cards but they have some interesting images.

Postcards from Tongwynlais
The River Taff

This photo of the River Taff is on an unposted card by The R. A. P. Co. Ltd.
I did some research into the company for an article on castellcoch.com. I think these cards were probably produced between 1930 and 1950.
There’s very little to identify where this photo was taken. The only feature on the bank is a gate.
Fairview, Tongwynlais

I was given this postcard at a fair when the seller heard I was interested in cards from Tongwynlais.
The card is unposted and just contains the text, “Fairview, Tongwynlais”. There’s a house called Fairview on Taff Street so I assume this is the location.
Do you recognise the lady?

Cardiff Heritage Pub Trail

Finally, we have a great little card that features illustrations of Brains Pubs in Cardiff. I don’t know how many of these are still open 18 years later.
Have you ever completed the Heritage Pub Trail?

My ancestors lived in Taff Street, I wonder if this lady is a relative? The surname was Stephens!
