The Community Council have published minutes from their January meeting.

One item that stood out was a potential running event at Castell Coch.

7.05 Challenge Wales are hoping to organise a running event from Castell Coch in November 2017. They have already contacted Cadw who are keen to stage the event at the castle. Challenge Wales have contacted the Community Council to seek advice on parking availability in the village.

I’ve contacted Challenge Wales Events and they’re going to send me some information very soon.

Gelynis Footbridge to Close for 3 Weeks

Iron Bridge Reopens

Nearly 3 weeks after the iron bridge was closed, repairs have been completed and it’s open again. Iron Bridge Repairs Scheduled to Start Tomorrow

Councillor Ben Thomas has reported on Twitter this evening that, “scaffolding [is] going around Gelynis footbridge tomorrow.” He also states that the repairs could take 2 weeks to complete. @mytongwynlais scaffolding going around Gelynis footbridge tomorrow. Iron Bridge Closed Until Further Notice

The iron bridge between Tongwynlais and Morganstown has been closed until further notice because of damage to the walkway. We were alerted to the closure earlier this evening and several people have confirmed it. There are plans to widen the bridge when money is available. ‘Stepping Up’ Workshop in Radyr

As part of the Cardiff Debate, the City of Cardiff Council’s consultation process, there’s a ‘Stepping Up’ workshop in Radyr on the 3rd of February.
